Potato Dextrose Agar
Potato Dextrose Agar is a nutrient-rich media that mycelia thrive upon. Much like Malt Extract Agar, PDA offers an excellent foundation for growth. Below is a simple recipe that may help in the production of your culture plates.
Basic Potato Dextrose Recipe:
– 50 grams of PDA
– 1 Liter (1,000ml) of water
Sterilize for 30 minutes at 15 P.S.I.
Don’t Forget:
- Breathable Foam Plugs for your glassware
- Sterilized Indicator Tape to make sure your work is sterile.
